Police are appealing for information to help trace a 52-year-old man who has been missing for over a week.

David Gibson was last seen by staff at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow on Thursday October 13 at around 10pm.

He travelled by taxi from the hospital to Buchanan Street Bus Station where he inquired about buses to Aberdeen.

He was then seen on CCTV at 11pm walking on North Hanover Street in the direction of George Square.

Mr Gibson is described as white, 5ft 8ins and of medium build with brown bushy hair and a receding hairline. He has blue eyes with a noticeable squint to his left eye.

He was last seen wearing a three-quarter length dark jacket, brown cardigan, blue and white chequered shirt, blue trousers and brown shoes.

Officers say he has previously gone missing before and routinely takes medication so say there is "mounting concern" for his well-being.

Inspector Janie Thomson-Goldie said: "Officers are continuing inquiries to trace David Gibson safe and well.

"As mentioned in our previous appeal, on previous occasions David has travelled to Edinburgh and as far as Brighton.

"We have been linking in with public transport operators and colleagues in the British Transport Police to assist in tracing David.

"Tonight, officers will be attending at Buchanan Street Bus Station to speak with individuals who use the station at that time.

"Please approach officers with any information you think might help our inquiry. His family are anxious to see David back safe and well."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
