An elderly woman was found dead outside her home in Glasgow as temperatures plummeted below freezing.

Her body was discovered around 10.30am on Sunday in her garden at Glencairn Drive in Pollokshields, Glasgow.

It is thought she had been dead for several hours, with weather conditions below freezing on Saturday night.

The news comes three days after Donald and Morag Macmillan died in freezing conditions outside their home in Lewis.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Enquiries are ongoing after a woman was found dead outside her home.

"Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

"A post mortem will be carried out and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
