Rail services via Glasgow Central Low Level have been cancelled after a strong smell of gas was reported near Dalmarnock station.

All trains running via Dalmarnock have now been cancelled, delayed or revised as a result.

ScotRail is unable to run services via Glasgow Central Low Level until the area has been checked by emergency services.

Disruption is expected until 6pm.

ScotRail said: "We have had reports of strong smell of gas in the Dalmarnock area and, for the safety of customers and staff, we are unable to run services via Glasgow Central Low Level until the area has been checked."

Customers can use tickets on First Bus Glasgow services.

They will be accepted on the follow routes between Glasgow and Motherwell via Hamilton Central: 7/A, 18, 21, 46, 64, 65, 90, 201, 240, 255, 263, 267, X1 and X2.

Between Glasgow and Motherwell and Whifflet, tickets will be accepted on services 2, 18, 21, 46, 61, 64, 65, 90, 201, 263, 267, X11.

Customers can use tickets on the following Whitelaws services between Larkhall and Hamilton Central: 240, 243, 254, 255, 2256.

Services from Glasgow Central High Level to Lanark, Edinburgh via Shotts and Newton are still running as normal and customers can use these to connect to their local stations.
