A van fire on a motorway has caused rush hour delays for commuters.

The blaze happened on the M74 in South Lanarkshire shortly before 7.30am on Tuesday.

A stretch of the route between junction 5 Raith and junction 6 Hamilton was closed for almost an hour.

Large tailbacks are being caused.

Drivers have been asked to take extra care in the area.
