A bus has gone up in flames on the M8, forcing lane closures at rush hour.

Emergency services are at the scene near Shieldhall, Glasgow, between J25A and J25 eastbound on the motorway.

Two lanes have been closed for safety reasons while the firefighters tackle the blaze.

Traffic Scotland has warned drivers to approach the area with care due to the black smoke and to expect long delays.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman confirmed they received the report of the fire at 4pm on Wednesday and dispatched three engines.

There are currently no reports of casualties.
