Andrea Bocelli to play The Hydro's opening series of concerts
The classical singer will play songs from his new album *Passione* at the gala concert in Glasgow on the rescheduled date of November 23.
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will perform some of the world’s most romantic songs as part of The Hydro’s opening series of concerts.
The classical artist’s gala concert will showcase songs from album Passione at the newly opened music venue. Andrea was supposed to play at the Hydro on September 15 but the date has now been pushed back to November 23.
Passione is a collection of love songs and is the follow-up to Amore, one of the biggest selling albums by a classical artist ever.
Inspired by his pre-fame days when he would sing in bars and take requests for songs like Elvis Presley’s Love Me Tender and Antonio Carlos Jobim’s Girl from Ipanema the new album also features collaborations with Jennifer Lopez and Nelly Furtado.
As the biggest selling classical artist of all time Andrea Bocelli has performed for four US presidents, two popes and the royal family as well as at ceremonies for the Olympic Games and the World Cup.
The 12,000 capacity Hydro is set to open in September 2013, and play host to around 140 events every year. Andrea Bocelli's gig has been pushed back to allow Rod Stewart to open the venue on September 30. Find out about the rescheduled dates.
Pre-sale for tickets is 9am on Wednesday, January 23 and tickets go on general release from 9am on Friday, January 25.
Tickets for Andrea Bocelli at The Hydro are priced from £45 and available from the Hydro website or by calling 0844 395 4000.
