New Hibernian recruit Matt Done could be given an immediate introduction to the Leith support after boss Pat Fenlon revealed he goes straight into his squad for Sunday's William Hill Scottish Cup clash with Aberdeen.

The Easter Road outfit host the Dons this weekend - their second meeting in the space of seven days following last Sunday's goalless stalemate - and Barnsley winger Done should feature some point after beating Thursday's transfer deadline to sign on loan for the rest of the season.

Another loan recruit, Manchester City's Ryan McGivern, is struggling with injury while full-back Tim Clancy has been ruled out too.

Fenlon is optimistic that the 24-year-old Done will make a positive contribution.

He said: "We had identified some players we wanted to look at over the past few weeks and had two or three on the radar for a wee while.

"It was a position we knew we had to fill to give us a different option. I've spoken to people who have been involved with Matt and got some really good reports on his ability and him as a lad, so we were pleased to get him in.

"He can bring a bit of energy to the team, he can also go and play up top which gives us another option. Maybe he can gives us that little spark that we are missing."

Hibs could only muster a goalless draw with the Dons in their last meeting, which came just seven days ahead of Sunday's match.

In between those two games, the Edinburgh men also lost out to Ross County with former Hibee Ivan Sproule bagging the winner in Wednesday's narrow win in Dingwall.

Now Fenlon - still bearing the mental scars of last season's humiliating Scottish Cup final defeat to city rivals Hearts - has stressed the importance of a victory on Sunday.

He said: "It's a big game for the supporters, the Scottish Cup means a lot to them. So we want to make sure we put on a performance and get a win."

Aberdeen defender Russell Anderson has resumed training and will return after missing two games through injury.

Mark Reynolds is expected to brush off an ankle knock while goalkeeper Dan Twardzik could take his place on the bench.

Gary Naysmith and Ryan Jack are close to comebacks but Andrew Considine (broken leg) and Chris Clark (broken ankle) are out for the rest of the season.

Aberdeen need a result at Easter Road on Sunday to retain hope of winning something this season.

The Dons have not won yet in four games in 2013 and cup ties bring their own pressure at the club given Aberdeen have not won a trophy for 18 years or reached a final for 13 seasons.

Reynolds is aware of the pressure of the game but believes they can meet the challenge.

"We need to step up to that pressure and realise that this is a pivotal point in the season," the centre-back said.

"People want to see us in the finals and see us winning trophies and the players want to deliver that.

"I think we can step up and provide the result.

"We are confident that we can change things around, and personally confident that I can play and influence the team and try and do well.

"I know recent form has been poor and people are starting to talk about statistics but a couple of wins and a win in the cup on Sunday can get us reignited and give us that second wind for finishing strongly."
