Hearts squad lodge official SPL complaint over unpaid wages
December salaries of the first team squad fell due on Friday but have not been met.
Hearts’ first team players and PFA Scotland have formally lodged a complaint with the Scottish Premier League over the persistent late payment of wages.
Having received their November wages on Thursday, which originally fell due on November 16, the squad failed to receive their December salaries on time on Friday.
Following a meeting between players and union representatives, the SPL will now be asked to take action over delayed wages, with the possibility of commercial revenues due to the club being redirected.
The SPL board are due to meet on Monday and it is expected the matter will be discussed at Hampden, at a meeting all member clubs – including Hearts – will be represented.
