Cancer victim's partner speaks of his loss at launch of campaign
Colin Leslie hopes research will ensure other young women are not given a 'death sentence'.
The fiancé of a woman who died after a battle with secondary breast cancer has spoken of the devastating moment they realised they were not going to grow old together.
Sharon Addison was given the all-clear from breast cancer after extensive treatment but a secondary form of the illness developed and she died in 2014, aged 44.
Her partner Colin Leslie spoke out as part of a campaign by Breast Cancer Now, which is calling on politicians to help stop women dying from the illness by 2050.
Mr Leslie, from Edinburgh, said: "It's so indiscriminate, cancer. It can pick on anybody at any time. I passionately hope that one day we are not in this situation."
