Police have renewed an appeal for information about a missing man who has not been seen for a fortnight.

Allan Shepherd, 56, was last seen in Willow Park in Fauldhouse, West Lothian, at around 7pm on January 26.

He has not been in contact with friends or family since and concerns are growing for his welfare.

Specialist search dogs and the police helicopter have been drafted in during searches for Mr Shepherd.

He is described as 6ft 4in, of slim build and with short grey hair. He was wearing dark blue jogging bottoms, a black fleece and black boots.

He was a familiar face in the town as he often walked a relative’s sandy brown boxer dog in the area.

Sergeant John Fleming, of Bathgate Police Station, said: “This behaviour is out of character for Allan and we’re conducting various inquiries in the local area as part our efforts to trace him.

“I’d ask anyone who believes they may have seen Allan since Tuesday January 26 to get in touch.

“We know that Allan is a keen jogger and also walked a dog locally. I would appeal to anyone who has knowledge of routes where they may have seen Allan walking or jogging to contact Police Scotland.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
