A man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a pensioner who was found dead in his Borders home.

Police were alerted to the death of David Farish, 75, after receiving an anonymous call.

Mr Farish's body was found within his home at Broadlee Bank, Galashiels, on Thursday afternoon.

Officers started a murder inquiry following a post-mortem examination at the weekend.

Detectives confirmed on Tuesday they had arrested and charged a 68-year-old man with murder.

The man is due to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday 24 February.
