Budget airline Ryanair has launched its 2016 winter schedule, which includes a range of new flights to destinations across Europe from Scotland.

The firm's 2016 routes from Edinburgh Airport will feature new twice-weekly services to Bologna, Bordeaux, Bratislava, Gran Canaria, Palma and Poznan.

In addition, will be an increased number of flights to Alicante, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Malaga, Rome Ciampino and Tenerife.

Glasgow International will host to four new routes to Alicante, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Malaga.

There will also be 11 routes including Derry, Dublin, London Stansted, Riga, Warsaw and Wroclaw. The airport will also boost its links to Berlin, offering six flights a week.

Glasgow Prestwick will offer three new winter services to Barcelona, Faro and Malta. It will also offer nine routes to destinations including Alicante, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Malaga, and more flights to Tenerife.

Ryanair will also continue to run frequent flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Dublin and London.

The airline's chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said the firm was pleased to launch its winter 2016 schedules.

He said: "Our 106 million customers can look forward to further improvements."

To celebrate the launch of the winter 2016 schedule, Ryanair is releasing 100,000 seats for sale across its European network from £19.99, which are available until Thursday.
