Man in court charged with murder of Borders pensioner

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a pensioner in the Scottish Borders.
David Farish, 75, was found dead at his home in Broadlea Bank, Tweedbank, near Galashiels, on Thursday, February 18.
Richard Cassidy, 68, appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday charged with murder.
Cassidy, of no fixed address, made no plea or declaration during the petition hearing and the case was continued, the Crown Office confirmed.
He was remanded in custody and is due to return to the court next week.
