Person dies after being struck on East Coast Main Line
Trains delayed by up to 90 minutes after incident at level crossing in East Lothian.
A person has died after being hit by a train on the East Coast Main Line in East Lothian.
The victim was struck at the Markle level crossing, near East Linton, shortly before 10am on Friday.
A spokesman for British Transport Police confirmed the person died but their age and gender is not yet known.
Virgin Trains East Coast said there would be delays of up to 90 minutes to services between Edinburgh and Berwick. Buses have been requested to run between Dunbar and Berwick.
ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Dunbar will run between Edinburgh and Musselburgh only. Disruption is expected to continue until noon on Friday.
