Further arrests have been made by police investigating a disturbance ahead of a Hearts versus Motherwell match in January.

Officers were called after reports of a fight involving rival supporters in McLeod Street, near the Tynecastle stadium in Edinburgh, on Saturday January 16.

Police Scotland said eight Motherwell fans aged between 15 and 51 were arrested and charged this week in connection with the incident.

The force said this is in addition to the earlier arrests of eight Hearts supporters.

Seven of the men from Motherwell have been released on bail preventing them from attending football matches and will appear in court in April.

The youth has been reported to the children's reporter.
