A man faces a jail sentence after being convicted of sexually abusing children over an 11-year period.

Craig McGlynn, 46, was found guilty of five offences, including indecent assault, between 1997 and 2008 in Edinburgh.

The five victims were all aged between ten and 16 at the time, Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard.

McGlynn was arrested in 2014 by police investigating other cases in which he was named as a suspect.

Detective sergeant Jonny Wright, of the Public Protection Unit in Edinburgh, said: "This conviction is testament to the courage of the victims, who have been incredibly brave throughout the trial and fully supportive of our investigations.

"My message to anyone who has been the victim of a sexual offence is that it's never too late to bring perpetrators to justice. We will support you every step of the way.

"If you have information about crimes of a sexual nature, you can contact Police Scotland on 101 or make an anonymous report through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."

McGlynn will return to court for sentencing on March 29.
