CCTV images have been released of two men suspected of spitting on a woman at a train station.

British Transport Police (BTP) issued pictures of the suspects in connection with the incident at Edinburgh Park on Thursday, January 7.

The 19-year-old got off the 6.29pm Dunblane to Edinburgh Waverley service at around 7.20pm when she was approached by two men.

Her attackers shouted abuse at the victim before one of them spat on her, leaving her "very upset".

BTP wish to trace the men, described as being aged between 17 and 25 years old.

One of them has a thin build and is about 5ft 8in tall. He was wearing a grey hooded top, grey jogging bottoms and a black scarf over his face.

The second man also had a thin build and was of a similar height to his companion. He was wearing a hooded top and had a scarf over his face.

Detective constable Paul Farquhar appealed for anyone who recognised the men to contact BTP immediately.
