A car has been involved in a collision with a lorry, closing the A92 in Fife.

Emergency services are at the scene of a collision between the vehicles on the stretch between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes.

The A92 is closed on the northbound stretch between Redhouse and Bankhead roundabouts.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police in Fife were called to the A92 between the Redhouse Roundabout and Bankhead Roundabout around 3pm on Monday 4 April.

"This was following a report of a serious road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car.

"Northbound traffic is currently being diverted and drivers are asked to follow the local diversion signs.

"The public are thanked for their patience while the police investigate the full circumstances.

"Further updates will be provided when available."

Traffic Scotland are advising traffic is slow around the area and motorists are being advised to exit A92 at Chapel Interchange on to B981 to Cluny to avoid the area.

The diversion continues along the B922 to the junction with B921 east of Kinglassie, right on to the B921 until it rejoins the A92 at Bankhead Roundabout.
