Teenagers charged with firearms offences on rugby pitch
The pair are accused of firing airguns during incident in Hawick in the Scottish Borders.
A pair of teenagers have been charged with firearms offences after allegedly firing airguns on a rugby pitch in the Borders.
The boys, both 14, were arrested on February 28 after the incident on Mansfield Haugh in Hawick.
A police spokeswoman the boys had been reported to the children's reporter. It is understood airguns were confiscated from the scene.
Community inspector Carol Wood, of Hawick Police Station, said: "These arrests are the result of a targeted and proactive police investigation.
"I want it to send a message that reckless and dangerous behaviour particularly involving firearms will not be tolerated in our community and we will employ all resources at our disposal to track down those responsible."
