A motorist has been charged after a serious crash between a car and a tandem bicycle.

The woman riding the bike needed hospital treatment after the incident on Admiralty Road in Rosyth, Fife, last month.

The black car and tandem bike collided between 4pm and 5pm on Saturday, March 19, leaving the woman with a serious injury to her wrist.

Police confirmed on Tuesday that a 27-year-old man had been charged and will be reported to the procurator fiscal.

Sergeant Hilary McKinlay from Dunfermline Police Station said: "One of the tandem riders suffered a painful injury during this incident and we're still appealing for any witnesses to come forward."
