Police search after 73-year-old man reported missing
Thomas Davidson was last seen on Esk Place, Dalkeith, on Tuesday evening.
Concerns have been raised for the safety of a 73-year-old man who has been reported missing in Midlothian.
Thomas Davidson was last seen at around 9pm on Tuesday April 26 in the town of Dalkeith, near Edinburgh.
He was on Esk Place and walking in the direction of Lugton Brae.
Police say it is out of character for Mr Davidson to go out without telling friends or family and are keen to locate him as soon as possible.
Officers have said that he may appear confused and anyone who has seen him is asked to come forward immediately.
Mr Davidson is around 6ft tall but walks with a stoop, which makes him appear shorter.
He has a slim build, short thin grey hair and was wearing a large navy blue coat, which has two pockets on the chest, dark grey flannel trousers and most likely dark shoes or trainers.
Inspector Bryan Jones who is based in Dalkeith said: "An extensive search operation is now under way in an effort to find Thomas safe and well, including specialist dog teams and foot patrols.
"At present, we are concentrating our search effort in the Dalkeith area and I want thank the local community for their cooperation and patience while we carry out this important work.
"However, we are keeping an open mind to the possibility that Thomas may have travelled to the wider Midlothian area or beyond and I would urge anyone who has seen or spoken to him to contact police.
"Likewise, if you regularly use local public transport and saw Thomas please let us know."
Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101.
