The family of a Kirkcaldy murder victim has paid tribute to him as detectives issued a further witness appeal.

Darren Adie, 42, was found unconscious on Tweed Avenue in the town on Saturday at around 6.45pm.

He was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where he later died.

Police are treating his death as murder and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

In a tribute via Police Scotland, Mr Adie's family said: "Darren was a much loved son, brother and father who will be sorely missed.

"We are grateful for the support of our friends and family."

Detective chief inspector Raymond Brown said: "I want to thank the community for their cooperation and assistance so far.

"Darren was well known in the Gallatown area and I'm keen to speak to anyone who may have seen him on Saturday in the hours before he died.

"I would also ask anyone who was in the Gallatown area on Saturday and who may have seen something unusual or anyone acting suspiciously to please get in touch with us."
