A motorist has escaped from his car after it flipped on to its roof on the A92 near Lochgelly in Fife.

The incident happened on the westbound carriageway at around 10.30am on Wednesday between the B9149 Lochgelly slip road and the A910 Kirkcaldy West junction.

A green Vauxhall Astra came off the road and overturned and the driver was treated for shock by paramedics at the scene after escaping the car.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed the man had no immediate concerns or injuries.

Traffic Scotland described the incident on social media as a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

The accident resulted in lane restrictions in both directions between the A909 Cowdenbeath and the B9149 Lochgelly as emergency services cleared the area.

The collision has since been cleared and all lanes reopened.
