A man accused of murdering a Fife grandfather has appeared in court for the second time.

Ian Goodall, 54, was found dead at a flat in Minto Crescent, Glenrothes, on Saturday, June 11.

Lewis Thomson appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on petition on Tuesday to face charges of murder, behaving in a threatening and abusive manner and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The 25-year-old, of Glenrothes, made no plea or declaration and was fully committed for trial.

Thomson was released on bail ahead of further court dates being set.

Mr Goodall's family paid tribute to him after his death, saying he had a "heart of pure gold".

Police are still appealing for information to establish the full circumstances of his death.
