Cars damaged after rocks thrown from city bypass flyover
Police in Edinburgh said the culprits had a 'complete disregard for the safety of others'.
Two cars had their windscreens smashed and a third was damaged after rocks were thrown from a flyover on the Edinburgh city bypass.
The incidents happened as the southbound vehicles passed under the Lanark Road flyover, near the turn-off for Baberton Road, at around 11.40pm on Tuesday.
The windscreens of an Audi A4 and Vauxhall Insignia were smashed while a third car had bodywork damage when a rock hit its bonnet.
No one was injured and officers are keen to trace two men who were seen acting suspiciously under the flyover shortly beforehand.
Sergeant Neil Thomson said: "These crimes demonstrate a complete disregard for the safety of others.
"Such recklessness is extremely dangerous and could have resulted in multiple serious injuries or worse."
