Four Hibs fans have admitted taking part in a pitch invasion at the end of the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.

Bryan McCabe, 45, Steven Gordon, 28, and David Jack, 19, pleaded guilty to invading the pitch at Hampden Park on May 21.

A fourth Hibs fan, who also admitted invading the pitch, had his case continued for a later trial date over an assault allegation.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard on Friday that they ran towards Rangers fans and gesticulated in a threatening manner after Hibs won 3-2.

Gordon, from Edinburgh, also admitted kicking an unknown man while he was on the ground.

He was given a £566 fine and a football banning order for a year and a half, while McCabe, also from Edinburgh, was given the same ban and fined £400.

Sentence was deferred on Jack, from Edinburgh, until next month for a social work report.

Three other football fans denied charges of running on to the pitch after the final.

Rangers supporter Robert Smith, 24, from Glasgow, is accused of entering the field, behaving in an aggressive manner, approaching opposing fans and waving his arm in the air, and assaulting someone by kicking them on the body.

George Henderson, 49, from Penilee, Glasgow, is alleged to have behaved in an aggressive manner towards opposition fans, challenge one to a fight and attempting to punch them.

Robert Barr, 19, from Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire, denied entering the field and approaching rival fans, brandishing a chair and behaving in a threatening manner as well as assaulting a man by kicking him on the body.

Sheriff Kenneth Hogg granted bail for all of the accused.
