Vandals have caused £8000 of damage to nearly 30 headstones at a West Lothian graveyard.

The attack took place at Whitburn Cemetery in the town's Manse Road on Sunday afternoon.

A total of 28 gravestones were damaged in the spree.

Community constable Carol-Ann Wilson said: "The damage to the headstones is estimated to be in excess of £8000.
