Vandals cause damage to 28 headstones at cemetery
Police are following a positive line of inquiry but want to hear from witnesses.
Vandals have caused £8000 of damage to nearly 30 headstones at a West Lothian graveyard.
The attack took place at Whitburn Cemetery in the town's Manse Road on Sunday afternoon.
A total of 28 gravestones were damaged in the spree.
Community constable Carol-Ann Wilson said: "The damage to the headstones is estimated to be in excess of £8000.
"We are working with West Lothian Council to identify the owners of the headstones.
"We are currently speaking to a number of witnesses and following a positive line of inquiry."
