A dog walker and their pet were attacked by a Staffordshire Bull terrier.

The larger dog left the Shih Tzu with back and neck injuries and its owner with minor injuries after the incident in Musselburgh.

The incident happened around 2pm in Goose Green Place on Saturday.

Officers said the attacking animal is tan and may go by the name Mylo.

Constable Calum Hutchison said: "I am looking to identify the males seen with the Staffordshire bull terrier and to establish who the owner is.

"Anyone who saw the incident on Saturday or who has information that can help me to trace the males or the owner is asked to please contact me."
