A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a disturbance at a house in the Clermiston area of Edinburgh.

The 57-year-old victim suffered a serious abdominal injury during an incident at a property in Durar Drive.

Police said the attack took place some time between 9.30pm on Wednesday and 3.1am on Thursday.

The man returned to his own home and called emergency services.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is in a stable condition.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

Detective sergeant Robbie Wallace said: "The victim in this incident has suffered a serious injury and we are eager to establish the full circumstances surrounding it.

"We are eager to speak to anyone who may have been in the Durar Drive area on the evening of Wednesday, November 30.

"If you have information that can assist in our inquiries we would ask that you get in touch with us as soon as possible."
