A man has been arrested in connection with four armed robberies at post offices.

The branches in Fife and West Lothian were allegedly targeted on Monday.

A 44-year-old woman suffered minor injuries in the incident at the Kincardine Post Office, while premises in Linlithgow, Cowdenbeath and Burntisland were also involved.

Police said a four-figure sum of money was allegedly taken in the raids.

On Thursday, officers said a 28-year-old man had been arrested and charged over the incidents.

The suspect is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Friday.

The force said it was also looking to trace a second individual in connection with the alleged robberies.
