A man has robbed a shop in Edinburgh with a weapon.

At around 6.15am on Sunday morning, an armed robber entered the shop on Lindsay Road.

Two female members of staff were present at the time but uninjured.

After completing the robbery, the suspect exited the shop and left on a black moped in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a white man.

He was wearing a red and sliver coloured motorcycle helmet, a black North Face jacket with grey sleeves and grey jogging bottoms with white trainers. He was also carrying a black Adidas rucksack.

Detective Inspector Paul Grainger said: "This was a frightening attack which has left the two female members of staff badly upset.

"We are eager to trace the man responsible as soon as possible.

"I would ask anyone who was in the Lindsay Road area on the morning on Sunday to get in touch with us immediately."
