A driver suffered a back injury in a hit-and-run crash in Fife.

His Citroen Xsara was struck by a white vehicle on the A92 at 4.30am on Monday.

The white vehicle left the scene of the crash without stopping and the man was taken to hospital.

The road was shut between the Kirkcaldy West junction and the Lochgelly exit for around 90 minutes.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses to the collision and would appeal to the driver of the white vehicle to contact them."

Inspector Ian Flynn, of Dunfermline police station, said: "A man was injured in this collision and we would like to hear from anyone who saw it and who has information that can assist us with our investigation."
