A schoolgirl has told a fatal accident inquiry she was "mucking about" and leaning against a wall when it collapsed and killed a fellow pupil.

Keane Wallis-Bennett, 12, died after the free-standing concrete modesty wall collapsed on top of her at Liberton High School on Apil 1, 2014.

The inquiry into her death is being held at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

On Wednesday, a pupil who cannot be named for legal reasons gave evidence via video link.

The girl said she and another pupil were "mucking about" shortly before the wall fell.

She said they had their feet on the opposite wall and were leaning on the modesty wall for a couple of seconds when it collapsed.

When asked if she had ever seen anyone doing this before, she replied: "No, I'd never seen anyone else mucking about on it before."

The girl told the court she was interviewed by the police afterwards and said she felt "scared".
