Women rescued after fire breaks out in tenement block
Blaze broke out in Forrest Road in Edinburgh in the early hours of Tuesday.
Three women have been rescued by firefighters after a blaze broke out in a flat in Edinburgh.
Fire crews were called to Forrest Road at 12.10am on Tuesday after a fire started in a first-floor flat.
The three women were led to safety from the five-storey tenement block, and passed into the care of ambulance crews.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "Crews used breathing apparatus and high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire."
An investigation is now under way into the cause of the blaze.
