A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man accused of battering another man unconscious with a child's scooter.

Daniel Beattie is said to have endangered the life of 29-year-old Barry Johnston.

Beattie faces a charge of kicking and punching Mr Johnston on the head before repeatedly striking him on the body with the scooter.

Mr Johnston is said to have been left seriously injured following the alleged incident on Ash Grove in Alloa on April 8.

Beattie failed to appear to answer the charge at Falkirk Sheriff Court, however.

His solicitor said he could offer no explanation for his client's absence and the sheriff issued a warrant for his arrest.
