Police are trying to find the family of a man found dead in woods almost a year ago.

The man, thought to be called Eduardo or Edvardhs Silda, was found on the Bush Estate in Roslin, Midlothian.

He was 5ft 3in, of stocky build and believed to have been from Spain or Portugal.

The 27-year-old was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a black T-shirt, a blue and white cardigan and black trousers when he died.

He also had three lighters, cigarette papers and a Ventolin inhaler.

Mr Silda was known to have spent time in Hull in May last year, Sussex in August and London in October.

It is believed he travelled through Wolverhampton in late November or early December last year before he died.

Detective sergeant Ian Campbell said: "Since Mr Silda's death we have been conducting enquiries across the UK and liaising with our colleagues in international agencies as part of our efforts to trace his family.

"We are now appealing for the public's help to identify Mr Silda's next of kin and would urge anyone who recognises him, or has any information which may be relevant to our enquiries, to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101.
