A man has been charged following after he exposed himself to women at a beauty spot in Fife on Wednesday.

The 47-year-old man had been at the Caiplie Caves on the East Neuk coastal route and allegedly flashed at females passing by.

He was arrested and is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Barry Crookston from Levenmouth CID said: "Following extensive inquiry into these incidents and supported by the local community we have now made an arrest in connection with these indecent exposures and we'd like to thank those who came forward with information.

"While none of the woman who witnessed these public indecencies were hurt, they were left understandably alarmed and we want to reassure our communities that crimes of this nature will not be tolerated.

"Whenever such offences occur they will be investigated thoroughly and those found to be involved will be robustly dealt with."
