A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found in Edinburgh.

The woman, who is yet to be formally identified by police, was found at a flat on Dumbiedykes Road near the Scottish Parliament on Saturday morning.

Roger Crossan, 52, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged with her murder on Monday.

No plea was entered and he was remanded in custody.

The case will be heard again later in October.
