A man has been charged with fraud and wasting police time after a Bentley reported stolen in Edinburgh was found in Pakistan.

A break-in was reported at a house in The Murrays Brae, in the south of the city, on Monday, May 22.

The car, which is said to be worth more than £55,000, was reported as being taken.

Police discovered the car had been placed in a shipping container that left London on May 2 and had docked in Pakistan on May 26.

Detectives established no crime had taken place in relation to the car being stolen.

A 34-year-old man was charged with fraud and wasting police time on Thursday last week and is due to appear in court at a later date.
