Meadowbank Stadium has held its final fireworks display before it is demolished.

The stadium will close for around two years from December 3 while a new £42m complex is built.

It will include an outdoor athletics track with a 500-seat stand and two FIFA-standard 3G all-weather pitches, including one in the centre of the athletics track to be used by Edinburgh City.

Further facilities will include two multi-sport games halls; three fitness studios; a gym; gymnastics hall; two squash courts; combat studio for martial arts; boxing gym with ring, a 60-metre six-lane indoor athletics track, and a cafe and meeting rooms.

Sunday's fireworks night doubled as a celebration of the stadium, with a packed crowd in attendance.
