A Domino's delivery driver fought back against a knife-wielding gang when they tried to steal his pizzas in Edinburgh.

The 40-year-old was making a delivery on Westfield Road in Gorgie on Wednesday when four teenagers attempted to grab his bag.

He struggled with the group until one of them produced a knife and they fled with the pizzas.

The day before a 50-year-old Pizza Hut driver was accosted by three teenagers on Westfield Avenue.

They also threatened him with a knife and fled with pizzas towards Alexander Drive.

In both cases the pizzas were ordered to a nearby flat without the knowledge of its occupants.

Detective constable Joyce Gunderson said: "While neither driver was injured during these robberies both were left alarmed after being confronted and threatened by the youths involved.

"We are currently looking to establish if both incidents are linked."

All four suspects are believed to have been around 17 years old and several were wearing ski masks.
