Man who died after being hit by car on the A1 named
Richard John Cooper, 38, was walking along the slip road when he was hit.
A man who was killed on a slip road of the A1 in East Lothian has been named.
Richard John Cooper, 38, from Edinburgh was on foot on the slip road of the southbound carriageway near Gladsmuir when he was hit by a Volkswagen Beetle.
The incident happened at around 6.25pm on Sunday.
Emergency services attended but Mr Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for four hours while police conducted their investigation.
Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.
Sergeant Andy Gibb said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Cooper's family and we continue to investigate the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
