A driver has been seriously injured in a two-car crash near a hotel in Stirlingshire.

The collision between a Peugeot 4007 and a Mini Countryman happened on the A81 at the Rob Roy Hotel, Aberfoyle, on Thursday morning.

Police said the 33-year-old man who was driving the Peugeot was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.

The 45-year-old woman driving the Mini suffered minor injuries.

Emergency services closed the road for four hours following the crash at around 7.15am.

Inspector Andrew Thomson said: "This collision resulted in a man sustaining serious injuries and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed it or who has any information that can assist us with our inquiries."
