A man who was seen in a distressed state near docks in Fife has been found safe.

The man, who is in his mid-30s, was spotted alone near Methil Docks around 8pm on Wednesday.

Police and the coastguard were concerned for his welfare as he appeared to be moving towards the water.

A search was carried out in the docks and along the coastline on Thursday.

Police Scotland have now announced the man was found safe in East Wemyss around 10am on Friday.
