A woman was trapped after a crash between a car and a van, causing huge rush hour delays.

Emergency services were called to the A91 between Cupar and Dairsie in Fife at 6.30am on Wednesday.

Fire crews have freed the woman while a man has also been injured in the smash.

Both have been taken to hospital.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We dispatched two ambulances to the scene.

"Two patients were transported to Ninewells Hospital."

The road was closed in both directions near Foxton Farm, causing delays of more than an hour.
