A CCTV appeal has been made over an attempted armed robbery in Edinburgh.

The incident happened at Londis on Easter Road at around 4.10pm on Monday, November 20.

Nobody was injured and nothing is believed to have been stolen from the shop.

Detective constable Stephen Herd said: "Thankfully, the shop worker was uninjured, however, this was a distressing incident and we're appealing for the public's help as part of our enquiries."

Police Scotland would not confirm what the attempted robber was armed with.

The man sought by police was wearing a green camouflage jacket, black Doc Martin-style boots and carrying a blue Poundland carrier bag.
