Two people were trapped after a crash on the A9.

The smash happened at Dalnaspidal between Blair Atholl and Dalwhinnie in Perthshire at 1pm on Monday.

One person has serious leg injuries following the collision, which involved two vehicles.

Officers have closed the road in both directions.

An air ambulance has been called while police and fire crews are also at the scene.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Two people were trapped, one in each vehicle.

"We used cutting equipment to free them."
