Two football fans have been charged after fake eyeballs were thrown at Dunfermline midfielder Dean Shiels during a match.

The incident happened at the Dunfermline v Falkirk game in the Scottish Championship.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, have been charged in connection with the incident on Tuesday, January 2.

Inspector Ian Flynn said: "This incident was extremely offensive and such behaviour will not be tolerated.

"While two people have now been charged, we are looking to trace others who may have been involved."
