A serial sex attacker has been jailed for eight and a half years.

Stuart Murray, 31, from Alloa, raped his victim in Kirkcaldy, Fife, in 2016.

He had previously been convicted of rape, attempted rape, assault and sexual assault.

Before his attack on his victim in 2016, he attempted to rape another woman in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, in 2010.

In 2016, Murray carried out a sex attack on a third victim at a house in Leven, Fife, having been on bail at the time from Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

He was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.

Lord Kinclaven told him: "The jury rejected your special defence of consent.

"There is no alternative to a significant custodial sentence."

He has been put on the sex offenders list.
