A man has been arrested after a body was discovered in an Edinburgh flat.

Alan Glancy, 47, was found dead by police at the property in the Port Hamilton area on Thursday February 1.

An investigation was launched and officers said on Wednesday that a 45-year-old man had been arrested in connection with Mr Glancy's death.

He is expected to appear in court in the coming days.

Detective chief inspector David Pinkney, of Police Scotland's Major Investigations Team, said: "Our inquiries are ongoing and our thoughts remain with Alan's friends and family at this time.

"I would ask anyone with information that can assist with our investigations to come forward and contact officers as soon as possible.

"We are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have seen or spoken to Alan between Tuesday January 9 and February 1 to help us complete a timeline of Alan's movements and whereabouts between these dates."
